PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Department of Athletics is proud to give you to great reasons two come out and see the Hawks and Lady Hawks play on Monday, February 11th. With a "Think Pink" promotion and a LIVE television game on ESPNU, why wouldn't you come to the Hytche Center?

For UMES' Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's basketball double header against Hampton University on Monday, February 11th the school will feature a "Think Pink" theme. The event is a global initiative from the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA). The nation of coaches representing the WBCA assists in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, in communities and beyond.

The WBCA began "Think Pink" in 2007 and had over 120 schools on board. This year they have more than tripled that number and UMES is proud to among them.

The Lady Hawks will assist in the effort by letting anyone into the game wearing pink for just a two dollar donation to the American Caner Society. UMES will give away pink t-shirts showing UMES' commitment to the event and the players will adorn pink sports gear for the game. The UMES staff will wear pink to show their support and the American Cancer Society will have an informational table set-up for the event. UMES will also recognize breast cancer survivors and those affected by the disease at half-time of the women's game.

The Hytche Center will be decorated for the game with pink balloons and pink ribbons will also be handed out.

Following the women's game, which starts at 6:00 p.m., the Fighting Hawks will play a live television game on ESPNU beginning at 9:00 p.m. The game between the Hawks and Pirates should be an exciting one and fans are encouraged to stick around and be on T.V.!
