SENIOR STANDOUT BRITTANY ADKINS NAMED TO 2008 ARTHUR ASHE JR SPORTS SCHOLARS FIRST TEAM

She may have already graduated, but the standout student-athlete that is Brittany Adkins is still being recognized for her hard work. Adkins was named to the 2008 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars First Team for Women's Basketball. She is one of 14 first team selections and one of 54 overall selections for women's basketball from the national list that includes schools from all divisions and affiliations. MORE[+]

UMES' LADY HAWK HOOPS TO HOST DAY CAMP

When Head Women's Basketball Coach Fred Batchelor led his team to a school record 17 wins in the 2007-08 campaign, many local ears were abuzz with the news of the squad's success. It didn't hurt that the Lady Hawks featured three All-Mid Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) players, including local standout Casey Morton who was named the conference's Rookie of the Year. Now, girls from the Eastern Shore, and beyond will have a chance to meet Coach Batchelor, his staff, Morton and other coaches and players as the program hosts the Lady Hawks Women's Basketball Day Camp.
