UMES GOES FOR SIXTH STRAIGHT WIN AGAINST DELAWARE STATE TONIGHT



Casey Morton finished with 18 points against Coppin State as the Lady Hawks won their fifth straight game.

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Women's Basketball team begins the first of three straight home games starting with Delaware State University (DSU) tonight in the William P. Hytche Athletic Center.

The Lady Hawks (12-8, 5-2 MEAC) enter tonight's game having won five consecutive games, including a 69-62 decision over Coppin State on Monday. April McBride (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle H.S.) once again led UMES as she finished with a double-double of 18 points and 16 rebounds. Senior Brittany Adkins (Millsboro, Del./Sussex Technical School) also added a double-double of her own, finishing with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Teammates Casey Morton (Mardela Springs, Md./Mardela H.S.) and Tiffany Reid (Philadelphia, Pa./National Christian Academy) pitched in with 18 and 15 points respectively.

DSU (10-11, 5-2 MEAC) enters the game looking to take sole possession of third place in the conference standings after coming off a 52-49 win over Morgan State on Monday. The Hornets offensive attack is led by Raquel Collier and Katreem Palmer with 13.1 and 11.0 points per game respectively.

UMES split the series with DSU last season as both teams won at home. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
